Which everyday skills show up across accounting, admin, hospitality, retail, care, trades, and IT support, and how to tell a real gap from a different job title.
Balancing a till, matching an invoice, and checking a delivery are all comparisons of one record against another. A person who has done one of them is not automatically trained for the others, but they can explain the habit: I compare two sources and I write down the difference. That sentence is more portable than a job title.
Speaking with the public is the other portable skill. A hotel desk, a clinic reception, and a shop counter are different rooms with the same demand: find out what the person needs, do not guess a rule, and say what happens next. The career finder on this site counts that overlap only where the skills match. It does not call you qualified for the new room.
A licence, a clinical registration, and a trade ticket stay with the job that names them. Years in a hotel do not become an electrical licence. Years in accounts do not become a nursing registration. If the advertisement requires one, the skills engine will still show a gap when you have not demonstrated it, and it should.
Software transfers only as far as the product you used. Experience in one accounting package is relevant experience. It is not experience of every accounting package. Say the name.
Each career profile lists required skills and a level: beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Your profile records two different facts. An assessment score is a result on our questions. A confirmation is a note you wrote that you have done the work. A confirmation meets a request for evidence in your own words. It does not by itself meet a higher assessment level.
The learning plan that follows is a sequence of things on this site: take the assessment, practise the vocabulary or the workplace English module, then open the current WORC ads for that kind of work. Finishing the plan does not create a job. It makes the next application more specific.
Whether a role is advertised for Caymanians, permanent residents, or people who would need a work permit is a legal and advertising fact. It is written on the official advertisement. Practising interviews does not change it. The Cayman guide on this site explains how to read those lines. It is background, not immigration advice.
Use the skills tools to prepare the part you control: what you can show you have done. Use My WORC to submit the application. WORCfinder does not forward applications and does not rank you for an employer.
