Grocery / Store Clerk

Job Title: Grocery / Store Clerk Department: Retail / Grocery Operations Reports To: Store Supervisor / Manager Job Type: Full-Time ________________________________________ Position Summary: We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Grocery / Store Clerks to join our retail team. The Grocery / Store Clerks would be responsible for ensuring merchandise is properly stocked, displayed, and maintained throughout the store while providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will assist with inventory management, merchandising, product rotation, and general store operations to ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming shopping environment. Duties & Responsibilities: • Stock shelves, coolers, and displays with merchandise in accordance with company standards • Ensure products are properly priced, labeled, and displayed • Rotate stock using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles to maintain product freshness and minimize waste • Monitor inventory levels and report low stock, damaged goods, or discrepancies to management • Assist with receiving, unloading, and organizing deliveries • Maintain cleanliness and organization of shelves, aisles, storage areas, and displays • Build and maintain attractive product displays and promotional merchandise presentations • Assist customers with locating products and responding to inquiries in a courteous and professional manner • Remove expired, damaged, or unsaleable products from shelves promptly • Support cashiers and other departments during busy periods as required • Adhere to all company policies, health and safety procedures, and operational standards • Perform additional duties assigned by management Qualifications & Experience: • 3-4 years previous retail, merchandising, or customer service experience preferred • Strong organizational and time management skills • Excellent customer service and communication skills • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment • Basic numeracy and inventory management skills • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required Key Competencies: • Strong attention to detail • Good time management and organization skills • Team player with a positive attitude • Reliable and punctual • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods • Ability to lift and carry merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs. • Ability to bend, reach, climb ladders, and perform repetitive tasks Compensation: • Salary: Based on experience • Benefits: Statutory benefits provided Work Schedule/Conditions: • Retail environment with frequent customer interaction • Exposure to refrigerated and storage areas as required • Shift-based, including early morning, evenings, graveyard (11pm-7am), weekends and holidays • Flexibility is required based on store operating hours and staffing needs
